Youth Mental Health First Aid

The military and veteran lifestyle offers unique challenges for the entire family. Due to frequent moves, social isolation, and managing stress and anxiety, mental health issues are higher among the children of our military and veterans. VSN Marketing & Outreach Manager, Ashley Craig, will offer a basic overview of common mental health challenges for youth, review typical adolescent development, and teach a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

Communication Boot Camp

Effective communication and the confidence to be able to speak publicly is a strong skill set that will help you land a job, get a promotion, or assist in networking. For many the thought of giving a speech or presentation evokes fear, but in this workshop, you will learn 5 keys to successfully communicate in public. VSN Peer Leader, Andree Long, is a former Toastmaster and advocate for military and veteran spouses. She knows the employment challenges faced within our community and will help you learn to speak with confidence!
