Parker County Center of Hope

We are a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to helping others break the cycle of poverty in Parker County, building relationships with accountability.

When families come to Center of Hope, they are able to receive assistance in many ways. One way is through our food pantry.

Through Tarrant County Food Bank, food drives, and generous donations from our community, our pantry is stocked with a variety of foods such as canned food, frozen meats, fresh produce and dairy items. Clients are able to shop for groceries according to family size and product availability.

Hot meals are also served Mon.-Thu. from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

When families come to Center of Hope, they receive short-term crisis assistance after an interview process. During the interview, we identify their income and expenses and develop a Plan of Action with them.

Because every situation is different, we don't have rigid income restrictions.  Instead, we have basic guidelines to determine eligibility for financial assistance.  Our most common financial assistance is for electric or propane bills.  We rarely pay an entire bill, but pledge a determined amount and assist the client in identifying solutions for the remaining balance.

After two to three visits, we offer Financial Management education to give individualized budget recommendations. These volunteers take an in-depth look at the family's finances and help them examine their purchases and establish a budget.  This financial education helps a family gain the ability to pay their bills consistently and develop a plan for their future.

We also provide medical assistance. Our most common medical assistance helps families with prescriptions. Occasionally, we help with co-payments for minor medical emergencies. Clients are interviewed by an advisor to qualify for assistance.

Kingdom Smiles is an dental program that can directly affect the level of health for our clients and their ability to work. This program helps clients who have no other avenue for assistance and are experiencing a dental crisis.

Typically, the Kingdom Smiles Program pays for an extraction to alleviate an urgent dental need.  Because we advocate clients being a part of their own solution, we require them to pay a portion of their dental assistance and work with them for payment options.

Another common choice, for those seeking employment, is to purchase dentures when someone has a long history of dental neglect.  A pleasant appearance is paramount for those seeking jobs in restaurant or customer oriented positions.

Dental assistance is often a key element to help break the cycle of poverty for people trapped in generational poverty.
