Operation First Response

Our Mission Operation First Response, Inc., supports our nation’s Wounded Warriors and their families with personal and financial needs. Services are provided from the onset of injury, throughout their recovery period and along their journey from military life into the civilian world. Financial aid varies as each case is based on individual needs ranging from rent, utilities, vehicle payments, groceries, clothing, and travel expenses.

Here are some of our ongoing efforts

Quilts Across AmericaProject for Wounded Heroes Independent Harley Davidson Dealers across the United States are being asked to participate in the “Quilts Across America Project for Wounded Heroes” Dealers are having customers write a message of thanks on the back of the quilts for our Wounded Heroes at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Quilts are being made and shipped by:The Perry Iowa Quilting Ladiesand P.J. Sesker-Green Director of OFR Public Relations. What a GREAT way to thank a wounded Hero for his or her sacrifice to keep us Free and keep them warm!

T’s for Troops Our wounded troops are flown to Landstuhl Army Medical Hospital, Germany and then to our state-side military hospitals with not much more than a hospital gown to wear.  I have partnered with Columbia Baptist Association, Dothan, Al and Operation First Response to provide them with a “biker” t-shirt and a card or note for them to say thanks and we love and will be praying for you.  Columbia Baptist will be helping with the collection and shipping Operation First Response then they will distribute them where needed. Please visit their website. The best way to contribute is to gather what shirts you wish to donate and box them up and deliver or send them to the address bellow. We ask that you help us by sending only new or like-new shirts, place them in a gallon zip-lock type bag, put a card or a personal note inside and mark the size on the outside with a permanent marker. On the card or note you are welcome to put correspondence information and info about you and your club or maybe a photo of you and ride. Donations to help offset shipping would be greatly appreciated. (Maybe $1 or $2 per shirt). Also, if you have a current Biker Mag you can be include it. (Please limit to one magazine because of cost of shipping). This effort was born in a conversation with a person with the USO about this need. We are just sharing the vision and the blessing. We need your help!

There are currently 20,000 plus wounded troops, many amputees and severe head trauma victim, and because of financial constraints rarely receive visits from family. If you have the opportunity, contact the military hospital near you to setup a visit.
