Mobile Loaves and Fishes - Community First!

Mission

We provide food and clothing and promote dignity to our homeless brothers and sisters in need.

Vision

Mobile Loaves & Fishes empowers communities into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.

History

Mobile Loaves & Fishes, Inc. began in 1998 when five parishioners of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church in Austin, TX began delivering meals out of the back of their minivans to men and women they found living on the streets of their city.

The sixth founder, formerly homeless himself, became the founder guide to the streets, and they began distributing 75 sack lunches a day to test their resolve in fulfilling God call. The first trip was in September of 1998, and by December of that year there was enough money to purchase a 1997 Ford F-250 pick-up truck with a catering bed.

Today, in addition to continuing our MLF Trucks, we have expanded our ministry to include the Community First! Housing Program and the ROADS Micro-Enterprise Program.

Join us in the feeding, the loving, and the helping of those among us in need.
