Metroport Meals On Wheels

Metroport Meals On Wheels, Inc. is a grassroots volunteer advocate for the elderly and those in need through home-delivered meals, senior center lunch and activity programs and other support services. We are "neighbors helping neighbors" working to alleviate hunger, isolation, and loneliness in our communities, and to foster the independence, worth, and dignity of each individual we serve.

We provide home-delivered meals to seniors and those who are unable to cook for themselves and are home-bound.  We do not have any age or income restrictions. A person regardless of age who may be recovering from an accident or illness is eligible for our meal program. An inability to pay for the meals is not a barrier either. There is no waiting list or red tape involved in signing up for meals in our service area.

MMOW serves home-delivered noon meals Monday-Friday in three counties:

  • Tarrant County: Bedford, Colleyville, Grapevine, Haslet, Keller, North Richland Hills, Southlake, and Westlake
  • Denton County: Argyle, Bartonville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Justin, Roanoke, and Trophy Club
  • Wise County: Aurora, Boyd, Justin, Newark, and Rhome
  • Saturday Delivery: Saturday meals are delivered in Colleyville, and Grapevine

For more information, call MMOW at 817-491-8534. The application process includes a home visit and minimal paperwork. Meals can usually be started within a few days of the initial phone call.

MMOW also provides help for active seniors by creating and managing senior center community luncheon programs and promoting already established senior centers.

MMOW invites active seniors to any or all of our community luncheons each week. Activities begin at 10:00 a.m. with coffee, snacks, dominoes, and card games. Bingo is scheduled at least once a month in each center. Lively conversation is always available.

MMOW's senior center luncheons offer wholesome, balanced menus that vary from center to center. Although senior center meals do not provide strict medical diets, meals are usually served buffet style which enables participants to choose from the selections that best fit their dietary needs.

Senior Center luncheons are provided for active adults age 55 or over. All seniors are invited to attend any of the luncheons regardless of their city of residence. Seniors utilizing ambulatory aids are welcome. Personal care is not available.
