Our Mission

Our mission is to combat isolation and promote the health, dignity and independence of those 60 years or older by providing meals for individuals who are homebound, unable to prepare their own meals and are nutritionally at risk.

Meals on Wheels: Provides home delivered breakfast, lunch, and weekend meals and also provides lunch meals at four senior centers county-wide.

Meals on Wheels and Senior Services in Collin County is a division of Collin County Committee on Aging which is a 501(c)(3); a private nonprofit organization committed to serving the needs of the elderly residents within Collin County since 1976. Today, assisted by over 700 volunteers, in excess of 1000 home delivered and congregate meals are served daily from our kitchen located in McKinney, Texas.

Thank you all for helping make North Texas Giving Day a great success for Meals on Wheels Collin County!On September 18th between 6am and midnight, Meals on Wheels Collin County received more than 200 gifts from those participating in North Texas Giving Day.

Services

The goal of our organization is to assist area seniors in remaining independent in their homes, to promote socialization, and to prevent premature institutionalization.


Collin County seniors may be eligible for the following services:

Meals on Wheels – home delivered breakfast, lunch, and weekend meals available at four senior centers county-wideSenior Safety Net Program – provides assistance and resources for walkers, wheelchairs, ramps, and emergency expenses when funds permit.Pet Meals – assists seniors in obtaining food for their pet

Eligibility Requirements Include:

60 years or olderA resident of Collin CountyMust be primarily homebound, not able to provide transportation on their ownHave some physical or cognitive limitation that prohibits ability to shop or cookExperience weight loss due to lack of nutritionIs unable to access meals at a local Senior CenterDoes not have a paid provider in the home who is being paid to prepare meals

To refer a senior: complete the Client Referral Form. Referrals for home delivered meal service are screened by phone, and then a home visit is made to determine eligibility.
