Adaptive Training Foundation

Adaptive Training Foundation's (ATF) mission is to empower the human athlete, restore hope through movement, and redefine the limits of individuals with disabilities.

ATF works with both veterans and civilians who have sustained a physical injury. In addition, we welcome those who were born with an impairment and/or have a degenerative disease to apply to the program as well.

ATF is committed to making this program 100% FREE for its applicants! This means there is an incredible opportunity for you to step into their story as they battle for a life of vitality and hope! These remarkable men and women inspire and motivate with their courage to overcome.

We accept 10 new athletes every 9 weeks and the training is 3x/week for those who are selected. Acceptance is not guaranteed. We receive a large number of applications and intentionally keep class sizes relatively small, though we continue to increase the number of classes each year. We have a multi-level screening process and not everyone who applies will be accepted. If you are not selected to participate in the class for which you apply, a letter will be sent to you informing you of the decision. At that time, you can ask to be considered for a future class. You will not need to reapply, but you might need to update some information on your application.

On Fridays, the gym is open for a group workout between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. that includes all current participants as well as alumni, family, and friends. The Friday sessions allow veterans and their families time to socialize, as well as exercise. Prior class members serve as mentors to current members.

ATF is moving to a new facility in Carrollton, Texas, in spring 2018.

To apply for admission, interested veterans or caregivers must complete the application on the ATF website, http://adaptivetrainingfoundation.org/adaptive-athletes/redefine-application/.
