Since 1982 our food pantry has served Waxahachie and the South Ellis County area.
Food Pantry:Waxahachie Care has a select choice food pantry which allows our clients to choose what they most need, if available. Based on how many are in their family, they are allowed to choose different types of foods they like to eat. The availability of food choices change based on the food that is donated each day. Clients must prove they live in our territory and that they are in need.
Utilities:Waxahachie Care can help with utility assistance as well, through multiple utility providers.
- TXU Electricity: We can help you with your TXU electric bill if you live in one of the following cities: Waxahachie, Sardis, Maypearl, Milford, Italy, Avalon (portions), Venus (Ellis County only), and Forreston.
- Reliant Energy: We can help you with your Reliant Energy electrical bill if you live in Ellis County, when funds are available.
- Atmos Gas: We can help you with your Atmos Gas bill if you live in any part of Ellis County, when funds are available.
- Water Bill: We offer help to Waxahachie residents through the Waxahachie Water Fund for those who have city water services.
Water bills and electricity outside of Waxahachie: Money may be available periodically. WE DO NOT HELP CLIENTS WHO LIVE IN RED OAK, MIDLOTHIAN, ENNIS OR FERRIS EXCEPT WITH RELIANT ENERGY. Other bills are paid only if monies are available for the month.
The following information is required so that we may determine client eligibility:
- Income Statements for All Household Members or Self Employment Information
- Medical Information (only required if this is the cause for your need)
- Child Support Information
- Food Stamp Information
- Job Loss Information
- Unemployment Information
- Proof of Residence & Copy of Lease (if you are leasing/renting)
- Your ID (We do not accept someone telling us their ID or wallet was stolen or lost)
- Your original bills and any disconnects as well
At Waxahachie CARE we try to help you with your needs so that you and your family can get back on your feet and have stability.
Utility assistance is done on Mondays and Thursdays. Appointments are required.
