Veterans Band of Corpus Christi

Mission of The Veterans Band of Corpus Christi is to pay honor and tribute to all American Military Troops and Veterans;To instill pride in our country; To encourage patriotism; To remind Americans of the courage and sacrifices of our Troops and Veterans; To portray our Troops and Veterans in a positive manner;To enhance the respect and dignity that all patriotic ceremonies deserve;To support our city, community, state and nation. The Veterans' Band has added a new dimension to their organization already well known, Veterans Band, Veterans Band's Color Guard, Honor Guard, Ceremonial Guard, and now the Veterans Band Funky Horn Section. Playing Oldies from the 60's 79's 80's like Bands like Chicago, Tower of Power, and other bands from those great times in the past. They have performed with St. Rep. Juan M. Garcia's Rock Band, the "Apes of Wrath" at the Blue Ghost, Pier 99, and at Bresters for the "Classic Garage Band" event to help community organization helping our community. The Funky Horn Section, Rocks!!!

The Veterans Band has performed veterans for ceremonies in the Texas Coastal Bend plus Houston, Dallas, the Rio Grande Valley, and many other cities and towns. As well in Washington, D.C. and Pearl Harbor for the deactivation of the USS City of Corpus Christi Submarine. And many other patriotic, veterans, and military ceremonies and/or events.

The Veterans Band has provided patriotic & military music at our veterans ceremonies sponsored by the Corpus Christi Mayor’s Committee for Veterans Affairs, military change of command ceremonies at our military installations, communities around the area for 32 years. Our membership of volunteers is composed of veterans from all five military services. Members must present an application for membership, a copy of their DD-214, &10.00 dues and participate in the musical band or color guard. We performed year around with a short break after 4th of July and return in August for Purple Heart Day. Our main purpose is to honor all veterans who served our country in the United States Armed Forces.
