Veteran Spouse Resiliency Group (V-SRG)

Veteran Spouse Resiliency Groups (V-SRG) provide a safe space for veteran spouses and partners of veterans to come together, listen, share their stories, and lean on one another for support and guidance. These groups connect veteran spouses across the nation to their communities by providing strong peer support. This peer support is available to veteran spouses who face a diverse and unique set of experiences and challenges ranging from caring for their own mental, emotional, and physical health, to parenting, relationship and career health, discussing the lingering effects of service, and how to support their veterans in seeking help.

This program was created for veteran spouses, by veteran spouses, and aims to provide a space where spouses and partners can gather with others who have a shared experience and be provided support without judgment. If you have been looking for a strong community of spouses, this is it! Join us!

The program follows a unique peer-to-peer model:

  • Trained veteran spouses and/or committed partners facilitate groups of 6-8 spouses
  • Groups meet once a week for two hours over 12 weeks (unless otherwise specified)
  • Curriculum topics range from “Taking Care of Ourselves” and “Sharing Our Stories,” to “Love and Relationships” and “The Lingering Effects of Service”

UPDATE RE COVID-19: In order to prioritize the safety of all of our group members and leaders, all groups are being conducted virtually until the threat of COVID-19 has passed. We are currently exploring the possibility of some in-person sites in Texas in Spring 2021, though the health and safety of our participants and leaders will remain paramount. Updates regarding Spring groups and the impact of COVID on our programming can be found on our website.
