Veteran Couples Connect (VCC)

The Veteran Couples Connect (VCC) program has successfully served 30 acitve duty and veteran couples, and in the coming months, the effectiveness of the course will be evaluated and improved for future programming.

The Veteran Couples Connect (VCC) program serves veteran couples in Central Texas to treat PTSD in a couples format. Using Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD (CBCT-PTSD), the VCC program provides PTSD treatment to couples in a group setting, with five couples in each cohort. Through the 8-week program, couples will receive in-person group treatment from licensed clinicians. The program provides couples with an introduction to treatment, safety building, and psycho-education about trauma and PTSD. At the end of the program, couples will receive vouchers for a date night experience to celebrate their hard work, as well as a weekend getaway with other veteran couples. Program staff will evaluate the program to assess the intervention’s effectiveness and to improve programming for veteran couples in future cohorts.
