The University of Texas at Dallas - Military and Veteran Center

UT Dallas opened the Military and Veteran Center (MVC) in 2012 to provide an additional layer of support and resources for veteran and military-affiliated students. The center is located on the fourth floor of the Student Services Addition Building. Staff in the center have served in the military themselves and have personal experience using education benefits, as well as working with campus and community resources. Staff in the center are invested in seeing students achieve their academic and career goals, and the MVC can guide students as they transition from the military into college and civilian life.

The MVC office provides multipurpose areas for studying, relaxing and connecting with other students. The facility includes computer and printing stations, common space and a coffee bar.

New undergraduate students are paired with Peer Advisors for Veteran Education, known as PAVE Peer Advisors, during their first semester on campus. The student group Veterans of UT Dallas, a chapter of the Student Veterans of America, provides additional opportunities for social and professional growth for its members.

The MVC regularly hosts events tailored for student veterans and partners with companies and corporate representatives. MVC events include:

  • End-of-Semester Socials
  • Open House and Veteran Resource Fair
  • Resume Reviews and Mock Interviews
  • Transfer Orientation Veteran Breakout Sessions
  • Veteran Scholarships
  • Veteran Cord Ceremony
  • Veterans Day Reception
  • VETiquette Dinner
  • VETworking Mixers
  • Warrior SMART classes
