Special Operations Warrior Foundation

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) was founded in 1980 to provide support and assistance to the families of fallen and wounded Army, Navy, Airforce and Marine Corps special operations forces, which include (but are no limited to) Army Rangers and Special Forces (Green Berets), Navy SEALs, Air Force Combat Controllers and Special Tactics, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, and Marine Corps special operations personnel.

The SOWF provides the surviving children of fallen warriors with a full college education, including tuition, books, fees, room and board, and a computer with printer.

We also provide immediate financial assistance to the families of severly wounded special operations warriors.

The Warrior Foundation Scholarship Program For our eligible SOWF families, the scholarship program process starts in the 10th grade, when we send college planning materials to the student so he/she can get acquainted with our program. Our guides describe how to apply for the SOWF and other available sources of grant money (not loans) available. During your senior year, you will receive your personal Student Handbook, which contains all application materials and instructions. It also explains the Warrior Foundation scholarship policy and rules. SOWF Counseling Network Working together with professional counselors across the country, we have created a network of free professional counselors for our SOWF families.
