Senior Center Resources and Public Transportation is your Connection for public transportation. A state-designated Rural Transit district, The Connection serves residents of Greenville and Hunt County with demand response, curb-to-curb service for the general public. The Connection also offers subsidized and/or discount services for seniors, handicapped, and low-income residents.
Our reservation-based public transit services are available to all residents of Hunt County, regardless of age or economic status. One day advance notice is required. Passengers must file a client information form. A third party acting in the best interest of the passenger, such as a caregiver or caseworker, may complete the form.
The senior transportation program provides transportation to Hunt County residents 60 and older to specific destinations at no charge. Destinations included:
- Hospitals
- Local doctors offices
- Pharmacies
- Grocery stores for essential shopping (limited to one trip per week)
- Senior Centers for participation in the meal program
Trips to other destinations follow the same fee schedule as public transportation.
