Safe Place, Inc. is a non-profit Domestic Violence & Rape Crisis Program, providing services in Moore, Dallam, Hartley, and Sherman counties; with a service area of 4,200 square miles and a population of over 35,000 people. Safe Place, Inc. is the only domestic violence / rape crisis center in our service area. We provide victims and their children with: Emergency shelter, clothing and food needs, crisis counseling, support groups, educational classes, advocacy, and access to local and state resources (for more information click here). | All services at Safe Place Inc. are provided in Spanish and English. Hotline Services The hotline, 806/935-2828, offers 24 hour crisis counseling, information and referral. Emergency Transportation Victims seeking shelter in our 4 county service area, are provided emergency transportation by Safe Place Inc. staff and/or trained volunteers. Residential Program Safe Place Inc. provides 24 hours shelter for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The shelter is maintained in Dumas, Texas. Emergency Medical Care Victims who need emergency medical care are provided transportation to local medical facilities. Safe Place Inc. also transports and accompanies victims of sexual assault to sexual assault exams if required. Peer Counseling Peer counseling services that provide understanding and support to adult and child victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault are administered by trained advocates. Professional counseling is available to all victims of Safe Place Inc. Civil and Criminal Justice System Legal Assistance Safe Place Inc. assists with Protective Order application, Magistrate’s Order, accompaniment to civil or criminal justice system proceedings and assists victims in locating legal representation. Educational Arrangements for children By assisting parents with making educational arrangements for children and when necessary, providing clothing and school supplies Safe Place Inc. ensures compliance with Texas Education Laws. Employment Assistance Victims find help at Safe Place Inc with locating jobs, preparing resumes and gaining employment skills. Essential Education Services At Safe Place Inc. victims are given the opportunity to enroll in Parenting Classes, Anger Management Classes, Healthy Relationship and Self Esteem Support Groups. Community Education Provide education to local civic groups and organizations about the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault. |
