In 2013, Recovery Resource Council launched Enduring Families, a program which provides outpatient counseling and support services for returning military veterans and their family members. This program targets the veteran family’s unique needs ranging from coping with symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction, to teaching effective decision-making, parenting, and communication skills. Services in this program are provided at no cost to the family or the veteran.
Recovery Resource Council launched the Enduring Families Veterans Counseling Center in April 2016 in a remodeled house adjacent to its main facility. The counseling center has been designed to facilitate individual counseling, marriage counseling, family therapy, play therapy, group counseling, and referrals to deliver a comprehensive service array. Having a stand-alone clinic with welcoming curb appeal, comfortable lobby area, and genuinely caring staff is something veterans truly deserve. Among the six rooms within the counseling center is a fully-equipped play therapy room dedicated to increasing resilience, self-esteem, and the overall well-being of future generations. Spouses will receive assistance with the effects of secondary traumatic stress symptoms, the challenges of civilian transition and adjustment, and the many demands of the military lifestyle.
