Rebuilding Together North Texas - Safe & Healthy Home Program

The Safe At Home program provides repairs to North Texas homeowners in need. Common projects include the installation of grab bars, smoke detectors, lowering counter tops and light switches, widening door frames, building wheelchair ramps and ensuring accessibility throughout the home. More critical repairs may include: flooring repairs, security improvements, minor plumbing and electric work.

RTNTX also provides home repairs for non-veterans who are elderly or disabled. But about two-thirds of clients are veterans.

RTNTX serves residents in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, and Rockwall Counties.

To be eligible for home repairs, the applicant must own and occupy a single-family home in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, or Rockwall Counties; be a veteran or immediate family member of a veteran or deceased veteran, with an honorable discharge; and be very low-income as defined by HUD guidelines. There can be no liens on the property and all taxes must be current.

Interested parties should complete an application form, which is available on the RTNTX website.
