Mission of REACH:  To provide services for people with disabilities so that they are enabled to lead self-directed lives and to educate the general public about disability-related topics in order to promote a barrier free community. Services Available at the REACH Centers include: Information and Referral Peer Counseling Advocacy Assistance Assistive Equipment Loan Disability Awareness & Sensitivity Training Independent Living Skills Training in Office and Online Computer Labs (Dallas) Adjustment to Disability Group Counseling ADA Training & Technical Assistance Ramp Building (Fort Worth) Outreach to Youth with Disabilities (Dallas) Employment Assistance (Dallas) Nursing Home to Community Living Relocation Assistance Peer Support Group Meeting A Professional Clothing Closet (Dallas) Social/Recreational Activities   REACH which stands for Rehabilitation, Education, and Advocacy for Citizens with Disabilities, is a North Texas based nonprofit corporation with the dual mission of providing services for people with disabilities so that they are empowered to lead self-directed lives and educating the general public on disability-related topics in order to promote a barrier-free community. In order to accomplish this dual mission, REACH operates the REACH Resource Centers on Independent Living in Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton and Plano. The centers are resource agencies, not residential programs. Reach offers a variety of avenues supporting volunteerism.  For instance, do you need help with a will -- or, as an attorney, are you willing to volunteer to help others?
