Red, White and Bike is FOR THE LITTLE HEROES
Operation Red, White and Bike is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to recognize the children of our wounded and fallen soldiers. We do this by presenting these children a quality bicycle that they have personally selected. Children and younger siblings of our soldiers, especially those soldiers who have been wounded or will not be coming home, make a special sacrifice. Operation Red, White and Bike is dedicated to recognizing this incredible sacrifice that is too often overlooked. We do so through a special gift of a world-class bicycle for these little heroes, the young sons, daughters and siblings of our country’s Purple Heart recipients and soldier’s killed in action. Kids love bikes! We provide a quality bike that has been selected by the child and customized to tell the story about the service of their parent or older sibling. This gift will provide the child much pleasure while reminding others of their parent’s or sibling’s service and love of country; this is a very unique way to say “thanks”.
Nominate a Little Hero
Do you know a Little Hero? If you do, go to www.redwhiteandbike.org and complete the nomination application.
A Little Hero is a child who is at least 4 years old and not older than 14. Their mom, dad, or older sibling must have been awarded a Purple Heart for their service in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Once a Little Hero is nominated, we will verify that their parent or older sibling has been awarded a Purple Heart. Our volunteers will contact the eligible child's parent or guardian and have them go to the www.trek.com where the Little Hero can select their bicycle. We will order the bike and have it professionally assembled. After these steps have been completed, our volunteers, along the child's family, will make the arrangements for the bicycle presentation.
