My Brother’s Keeper Outreach Center, is a sustainable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides effectual assistance throughout Fort Bend and Harris counties to stabilize and strengthen individuals and families in crisis – assistance that will not only enhance their quality of life but will foster strong, competent, economically self-sufficient citizens who are positive contributors in our society.Our mission is to provide emergency assistance, social services and training for individuals and families in crisis that will stabilize, strengthen and empower them to help themselves.

Client Services interviews each individual to determine the most effective way that MBK can assist them through their crisis and help them to obtain self sufficiency. MBK serves any one qualifying for services without regards to race, gender, ethnicity or religion.

Assistance can be any or all of the following:

Financial AssistanceIndividuals or families is provided for a documented crisis, primarily for rent and utilities. Clients that are seeking employment may sign up to use our computer room for internet access. Also, they are given information on any jobs that we may have information on at the time of their visit.

Food PantryThe Food Pantry supplies food to individuals and families who have established a need through Client Services.

The MBK Pantry depends on food drives, individual donations and financial contributions to provide its services. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays special packages are prepared and distributed.

Computer Resource LabOur Computer Resource Lab provides the following: Computer access to create resumes and/or update resumes. Internet access for on-line job search. In addition, employment postings from businesses in our community and the Houston area are posted on our bulletin board.

Basic computer classes of MS Office are offered throughout the year.

Special Programs

School Supply Drive – As the new school year approaches students need to be equipped with the required items to help ensure that they are successful learners.

Each year MBK receives donations of school supplies and purchases grade appropriate school supplies for the students registered in the Inspiring Minds School Supply Program.
