Since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and the subsequent war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, thousands of members of our armed forces have been injured in the line of duty defending our freedom and protecting the United States of America. Often these men and women are unable to receive the medical treatments that would facilitate their return to a productive civilian life. While the Department of Veterans Affairs provides treatment to these troops, the scope of covered services is limited and sometimes unavailable. That's where HHN steps in. We provide financial assistance for desperately needed therapies and services for injuries like Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), that are not currently provided or covered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Welcome Home, Hero Program

Welcome Home, Hero Program aids in providing financial assistance to injured military personnel and their immediate families for basic needs, including but not limited to: food, shelter, and clothing.
Many veterans struggle with the transition from military to civilian life. Welcome Home, Hero helps to aid this transition by providing short-term financial assistance to military families of wounded heroes to meet their basic needs.
Once an injured veteran comes home, there are many changes for the individual as well as their family. Healing Heroes Network is dedicated to healing the whole hero; by providing short-term financial support for their basic life needs, we are able to help these brave service men and women get a leg up while returning to more productive, fulfilling, civilian life with their families. When we help improve the lives of our veterans, we improve the quality of life for their families, communities, and our Country as a whole.

To be eligible for the Welcome Home, Hero Program, you must:
- have been injured while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan
- have been injured on or after September 11, 2001.

Once your complete application and all supporting documents are received, Healing Heroes Network will review it for completeness and determine eligibility. Healing Heroes Network will notify you within one to two weeks whether your application has been approved, if more information is needed, and what the next course of action will be.

Tablets for Heroes Program

The Tablets for Heroes Program provides tablet computers to veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who have sustained Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) while serving since September 11, 2001.
Symptoms associated with PTSD and TBI can include disorganization, forgetfulness, and disorientation. With the aid of a portable computer tablet, they would have constant access to an electronic schedule, cognitive assistance, and consistent access to various forms of wireless communications to stay in touch with family, caregivers, or doctors.
There are 7 applications downloaded on the tablets that serve as therapeutic programs, as well as copying and adaptability coaching applications.
Tablets for Heroes will help our troops heal cognitively and allow them to be more self-sufficient, rather than relying on caretakers.
