Fresh Start 4 Vets, is a federal, grant based employment program through Project Unity. We are funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. We work with Blinn College District to provide job and/or occupational skills training in facilities maintenance or customer service. We also offer on the job training! Fresh Start 4 Vets is designed for homeless veterans, who are either incarcerated, or are at risk of homelessness needing assistance to get back on their feet. We will help you overcome barriers to employment.
• Do you have at least one day of active duty, not including training?
(National Guard and Reserve must have been federally activated for duty, not including training) • Do you have an honorable discharge?
• Are you at risk of being homeless or have been homeless within the last 60 days? • Are you at imminent risk of being homeless (within 14 days)?
• Are you someone who is needing assistance in transitioning from incarceration?
•Do you have any discharge other than dishonorable?
•Are you considered "low income" or eligible for social services?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, call us! We have a huge heart for our veterans. We care about your story, and we want to listen. We will provide a holistic approach to helping you get back on your feet. You served our country, and now it's out turn to serve you.
