City of Austin Veterans Services Office

The City of Austin established a Veterans Service Office that assists City employees in the National Guard and Reserve (and their families). The City of Austin values the contributions that our Veterans have made, and continue to make, and recognizes the sacrifices made by those who have served, or who are currently serving on active duty, in the United States Armed Forces.

The office also offers training to City departments on federal legislation that addresses hiring, leave and benefits; monitors the health, welfare and morale of veterans in the City workforce; and works to ensure fair treatment for all service members and their families by all government agencies.

The office also collects furniture donations for formerly-homeless veterans. You can arrange for pick-up of donated furniture by filling out this online form.
