Central Plains Center (CPC) started in 1969 and continues to provide services for 9 counties in the rural/frontier area of the Texas Panhandle. CPC is governed by a Board of Trustees representing each of the 9 counties, which gives it roots as a “community” agency. An old term for agencies such as ours is “Community MHMR Center.
CPC provides a variety of services including but not limited to mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance abuse, marriage and family and many more. Call the Admissions Office 806.296.2726 for more information.
CPC operates a 24-hour Crisis Line. The toll free number is 1.800.687.1300. A professional mental health worker will answer the phone and offer guidance.
Our agency strives to provide quality, efficient professional services. We pride ourselves in being prompt and beneficial to our customers. We welcome input as to how we can improve services to your community. You may call 806.293.2636 and speak to any of our management staff.
About our organization
Central Plains Center is an independent local entity – not a state, federal, or county agency. Its work is directed by a local board of trustees consisting of one representative from each of the nine counties that we serve. The trustees are appointed by the County Commissioner’s Courts. Operating funds come from private payment for services; form county, state, and federal sources; and form donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations.
