We offer hope for men and women who have served this country and are in crisis. We help through financial assistance for rent, mortgage, food, employment and education guidance, and through other services.

Basic Needs

Providing basic needs for individuals working toward self-sufficiency. 

We provide food, rent, utilities, medication and support services aimed at returning families and individuals to self-sufficiency. As we help relieve the overwhelming stress that comes from the lack of basic needs, those in crisis are better able to work towards self-sufficiency.


  • Food pantry assistance once every thirty (30) days

  • Referrals provided to appropriate community resources

  • Intensive case management

  • Employment assistance

  • Shelter

  • Individual and Group Counseling (for clients in programs only)

  • Transportation assistance (for clients in programs only)

  • HIV Education



  • Must be 18 years of age or over

  • Must have photo ID, proof of address, and income verification, and must fall within the HUD income guidelines.

  • Clients must have a vacate notice or an eviction notice in order to qualify for rent/mortgage assistance. For mortgage assistance, clients must be at least two months in arrears. A letter from the mortgage company is required stating that client is in arrears. Clients must have a cut-off notice for utility assistance.

  • For Veteran program must provide DD-214

  • For AIDS Ministry program must show current proof of HIV+ status

  • For the Villa, must be homeless and provide written documentation of homeless status. Cannot have more than three children eight and under.

Veterans Assistance Program

Providing hope, basic needs and guidance for those who have served our country.  


The Veterans Assistance Program stands as a refuge of hope for our men and women who have served this country. Veterans in crisis can be helped with financial assistance for rent, mortgage, food, employment and education guidance and other needs.


Food assistance is provided through the food pantry once every thirty days.  One bag is provided to families with five or less in the household.  Families with more than five in the household will receive two bags.

Referrals provided to appropriate community resources.

Rent, mortgage, utility, transportation, employment, furniture assistance, and case management is provided to Veterans experiencing a crisis. The Case Managers work with clients during this time to help them locate jobs, secure Veteran benefits, job training, and permanent stable housing. A client may be eligible for up to six months of rental assistance with case management services, as funding is available. Clients are limited to a one-time assistance per year. Assistance may be partial if client is receiving a pledge from another agency. There are no fees for these services.


  • Clients must be 18 years of age or over

  • Photo ID

  • Proof of address

  • Proof of income (clients must fall within the HUD income guidelines)

  • Must be able to demonstrate need such as an eviction notice or foreclosure letter

Lotus Project

Helping female veterans rebuild their civilian lives after the challenges of military duty.  


While female veterans grew stronger physically through combat, many may have experienced trauma, separation anxiety from their children, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and homelessness. The Lotus project's goal is to help female veterans heal and rebuild their civilian lives.


  • Permanent and supportive housing placement for homeless, disabled female veterans with or without children

  • Needs assessment to build customized life action plan

  • Financial Counseling

  • GI Bill Counseling

  • Life Skills Classes

  • Mental Health Referrals

  • Help increasing veteran's social network and rebuilding her support system
