Aggie Shields

Aggie Shields is a student organization dedicated to serving the over 1,200 student veterans at Texas A&M.

Our primary focus is to help alleviate the financial burdens that Aggie student veterans face by providing textbooks free-of-charge through our Lending Library.

Textbook Check-out Procedures for Veterans

If you received an email from Aggie Shields with a list of your books:

  1. Go to the VRSC (Koldus 112) and find your stack of books with your name on it. They are located on the shelving units back next to Col. Smith’s office. A few may be located on top of the shelves or in the back study lounge.
  2. Find the sign out sheets, which will be located at the front desk, and sign out EACH textbook to verify you received all of your textbooks.
  3. Return these textbooks by December 12th and happy studies!

If you did not fill out an application or receive an email from us with a book list:

  1. Go to the VRSC (Koldus 112) and find either an Aggie Shields member or a VRSC worker who may be helping out. You MUST have your book list ready so that we can look them up and see their availability quickly.
  2. Once you receive your textbook(s), make sure you sign the sign-out sheet in the green binder, which will be located at the front desk. You must do this for EACH textbook you are borrowing from the Lending Library
  3. Return these textbooks by December 12th and happy studies!

  1. The Lending Library opens for you on AUGUST 31st
  2. On Thursday, August 30th, we recommend visiting the catalog on our website, aggieshields.org, and figuring out which books you are needing will be available in our library.
  3. On Friday, August 31st, go to the MSC Lending Library, located near the Hall of Honor and the Veterans Lounge/Study Area, with your book list ready so that we can search for your books and see their availability quickly.
  4. Depending on the number of workers, you may be required to sign out EACH textbook on a sign-out sheet provided by the Aggie Shields worker in the office.
  5. Return these textbooks by December 12th and happy studies!
