Lindsay Bira, Ph.D.

Biography

Lindsay Bira, Ph.D., is a clinical health psychologist, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Health San Antonio, and TEDx speaker. Her clinical research specialty is in behavioral medicine and PTSD/trauma.  In addition to her faculty role treating combat-related PTSD with STRONG STAR PTSD Research Consortium, Dr. Bira runs a private practice, serves as a consultant for projects that seek to incorporate mental health, and speaks often on the topic of mental health and wellbeing. Dr. Bira has been featured by Texas Public Radio, Women's Health Magazine, News4, Fox29, and more for her work in PTSD, mindfulness, brain health and personal growth. In her presentations, Dr. Bira strives to bridge the gap between research and public knowledge to help break stigma around mental health and treatment.  Dr. Bira received her Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology from University of Miami. She completed residency as a fellow for Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine before completing an additional two-year fellowship in trauma psychology.
