Atten: WOMEN MILITARY VETERANS
Because YOU have a story...a story that matters!
In celebration of June's Texas Women Veterans Day, San Antonio College and MilSpeak Foundation invite you to participate in a free On Point Women Warriors Writing Workshop and luncheon 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, June 10, at the college's Victory Center located at 1819 N. Main Avenue.
SEATING IS LIMITED. RESERVE YOUR TICKETS QUICKLY FOR ONE, OR BOTH, OF THESE SESSIONS!
MORNING SESSION: MilSpeak's president Tracy Crow -- a Marine Corps veteran, author of six books, and former professor of journalism and creative writing -- will lead the morning workshop for first-time attendees of an On Point workshop, providing instruction on how writers identify the stories of their lives and how they begin to develop them for the page. This morning workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon; lunch will follow.
AFTERNOON SESSION: Tracy's afternoon session is open to morning attendees and to returning 2018 On Point Women Warriors Workshop alumni! In this slightly more advanced workshop, Tracy reveals how writers often find their most compelling stories through other works of art, such as paintings, sculptures, and family photographs. Tracy encourages attendees to bring a photograph of an artwork or family photo to use for inspiration.
Whether you're interested in writing for self-reflection, a family legacy, or publication, you'll want to gift yourself with this safe-zone experience led by MilSpeak president/On Point founder and award-winning military author, Tracy Crow.
Join us for a celebration of military sisterhood as we explore the value of owning and writing our HERstory!
