About This Event:

Department of Defense Mobile Health Practice Guide, Third Edition

1-2 p.m. (ET) Feb. 22, 2018

The Department of Defense (DoD) Mobile Health Practice Guide, Third Edition, is a newly released clinical support tool designed to inform decision-making in clinical settings. The guide describes the five core competencies for integrating mobile technologies into health care: evidence-based, clinical integration, security and privacy, ethical issues and cultural considerations.

This guide offers an overview of mobile health and includes essential tutorials on how to download mobile apps and incorporate them into clinical settings. The material is primarily tailored for military health providers, but can be used by clinicians across the health care spectrum who diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions, particularly those commonly reported in military treatment settings.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the available provider tools in the DoD Mobile Health Practice Guide to support best practices in evidence-based care.
  • Describe the five core competencies needed by providers to safely and effectively integrate mobile health in clinical care.
  • Review the five steps providers need to know when integrating mobile apps into a treatment plan.
