The “Caregiving Skills Toolbox: Successful Caregiving of Veterans, Adults and Children with Paralysis” program is a hands-on training course designed for family caregivers assisting veterans, adults and children with paralysis in the San Antonio, TX area and surrounding rural communities.
What is Paralysis?
Loss of muscle function in part of your body. It can be localized or generalized, partial or complete, and temporary or permanent. Paralysis can affect any part of your body at any time in your life. If you experience it, you probably won’t feel pain in the affected areas.
This 3-hour course was designed to better serve the caregiver community, by providing didactic and hands-on training that will facilitate the assistance of activities of daily living (i.e. transference, bathing among others).
