Military Order of the Purple Heart, Department of Texas

The State of Texas has one of the largest military and veteran populations and our organization proudly serves our chapters, membership, the active duty military, veterans of all branches of military service and conflicts in the state, as well as their families. The MOPH Department of Texas was chartered on 22 February 1984 and is comprised of 21 Chapters of the MOPH, representing approximately 47,000 living recipients of the Purple Heart in the State of Texas.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Department of Texas is unique among all veteran service organizations in that our membership is comprised entirely of combat veterans who were wounded in action. The mission of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is to foster an environment of goodwill and camaraderie among combat wounded veterans, promote patriotism, support necessary legislative initiatives, and most importantly, provide service to all veterans and their families. All persons of good moral character who are awarded the Purple Heart Medal by the Government of the United States AND are Active Duty or have Honorable or General discharge are eligible for active membership in the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A.  Please note that the MOPH does not have posthumous memberships.  Only living Purple Heart Recipients are eligible for membership.
