The 2012 Veterans Day Parade planning committee needs your help! And if you know of anyone else who may be interested, please forward.
Plans for the 2012 Travis County and City of Austin Veterans Day Parade and Capitol Ceremonies are under way. We are seeking to add to the committee a few good men and women volunteers to make this years celebration a success. If you are an independent, motivated and dedicated worker interested in giving your time and commitment to honor those who have fought so valiantly for our freedom, then we want you. Opportunities are available for both leaders and workers in the following areas:
- Marketing advertising
- Media Relations
- Website Design and Development
- Parade / Applications Data
- Identifying Honorees
- ROTC unit and Band Solicitation
- Military Group Participation
- Vehicle Acquisition
- Contacting schools districts, colleges and universities
- Capitol Ceremony
- Parade notices to all businesses along Congress Ave.
- Street banner application
- Essay Contest
Veterans Day Parade Committee Meeting reminder starting July 31, 2012 @ 12:00 noon to 1pm at the Travis County Veterans Service Office 100 N IH 35, on the corner of East Cesar Chaves and IH 35 service road, (The old Palm School). Additional meetings through Veterans Day are as follows:

Committee meeting September 11th and 25th, 2012
Committee meeting October 9th and 23rd, 2012
Final Committee meeting before the Parade November 6th, 2012
