The Supporting through Substance Abuse group provides support to spouses and caregivers of veterans and military service members who may be struggling with substance abuse and aims to address the needs of loved ones who are facing the emotional and physical toll of supporting a loved one with substance abuse issues.
One of the strengths of this peer support group is the compassion and understanding that Peer Leader Alunya Clark will bring to the sessions. As someone who has faced similar challenges, she can relate to the participants' experiences and provide them with empathy and support.
This group provides a safe and non-judgmental environment where participants can share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns freely. There is a strong emphasis on the importance of camaraderie and the knowledge that you are not alone in your struggles.
This is a closed group that will meet twice in March and will be offered again in April. Sign up for one or both months! Please register for each series individually.
March 7 & 21, 2024 from 5-6 pm CT
April 4 & 18, 2024 from 5-6 pm CT
To be eligible for this group, you must be the spouse or partner of an active-duty service member or post-service veteran, or a caregiver of a veteran or active-duty service member.
